Description : Potential for significant freezing rain Wednesday.
What: Prolonged period of freezing rain. Possibly up to 24 hours for some areas. Ice accretion or build up of 35 to 45 mm.
When: Beginning overnight or early Wednesday morning and continuing through Wednesday or Wednesday night.
Where: Portions of central and eastern Ontario.
Additional information: A series of low pressure systems will lead to significant freezing rain. There is potential for temperatures to rise above the freezing mark Wednesday afternoon for portions of eastern Ontario, which could lead to less ice build up.
Ice build up is likely to cause tree branches to break. Widespread utility outages are possible.
