Call Before You Dig!

Starting June 17, 2013, under Bill 8, you must communicate with ONTARIO ONE CALL to obtain an underground locate. Call 1-800-400-2255 to put in your request.

Underground networks of services including power lines might be buried on your property. Accidentally hitting one can cause injury, property damage and inconvenient outages. Plan before you dig.

If you are planning to put in fence posts, plant a tree, excavate for a pool, deck or a new addition then please call to have the service lines located. A locate will show where any underground hydro lines may be so injury to persons or damage to equipment may be avoided.

Call Ontario One Call at 1-800-400-2255 to book your FREE service appointment. This service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please call five full business days before you dig.

Having your utilities located before you dig is required by law under the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act (see Construction Projects 228).

In the present situation with the COVID-19, Hydro Hawkesbury is concerned with the health and safety of the public and our employees.

  • At most financial institutions, by phone, Internet or in-branch banking.
  • Pre-authorized payment.
  • By credit card, through our partner Paymentus at 1-877-480-3969 or by internet at  Until April 30th 2020, Hydro Hawkesbury will absorb the transaction fee applicable to your transaction.

COVID-19: Time-of-Use Rates 

COVID-19 Rate, starting June 1, 2020 and is intended to be in place until October 31, 2020.

 The Government of Ontario has introduced a fixed COVID-19 rate of 12.8¢/kWh for all time-of-use (TOU) electricity customers. Households, farms and small businesses who pay time-of-use electricity rates will be charged this rate 24 hours a day, seven days a week, starting June 1, 2020.


Customers do not need to take any action as the pricing applies automatically.
